The Sales Engineer is responsible for teaming with the Regional Account Managers in positioning, selling and supporting the MRV product portfolio and service solutions with the goal to achieve and exceed quarterly / annual bookings, revenue and territory growth objectives.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide MRV solutions, technical consulting and sales support for existing accounts, partners and prospects in assigned territory;
- Perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects;
- Provide technical input into developing account plans and assist the account teams in qualifying and closing customer opportunities;

Requirements
- BS/BA or equivalent experience coupled with 2+ years working as a Sales/Systems Engineer or with a service provider. Candidates with SQA background will be considered;
- Strong IP Routing and Sales engineering experience;
- Able to design and provision large Metro Ethernet networks;
- Industry and working knowledge of MEF, IEEE and IETF standards;
- Knowledge and expertise in Carrier Ethernet, QoS, OAM, CeS and wireless backhaul;
- Ability to articulate core technologies such as MPLS, VPLS and VPN’s;

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide MRV solutions, technical consulting and sales support for existing accounts, partners and prospects in assigned territory;
- Perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects;
- Drive sales initiatives involving quality issues and action items related to various products;
- Effectively communicate about company, competitors, technologies, and solutions;
- Understand customers’ problems and concerns and provide options and solutions that will help meet their strategic goals;

- Manage and perform product demo’s, coordinate and oversee lab trials and successfully position and sell the overall value of the MRV solution to the customer;

- Experience in managing a multi-channel environment, creating and managing sales leads through partner relationships while balancing direct selling objectives;

The Systems Analyst / Programmer / Systems Engineer will be primarily responsible for gathering necessary product and technical information required for maintaining a DWDM Network Design Software Application. This commercial software application relies on the customization of Visual Basic scripts to parse database libraries and apply predefined “fitting rules” in the synthesis of an optical communications network This synthesis includes component placement, performance calculations and comprehensive reports (Bill of Materials, Performance and Topology Drawings).
This position will be responsible for maintaining the Virtual Basic scripts and adapt the component database to reflect ongoing changes in the product line.
This position will also interface with other software divisions within MRV to coordinate integration with other software products.
MRV designs, manufactures, sells, installs and services a variety of DWDM products for use by Enterprise and Carrier Customers.
