Optical Transport — LambdaDriver, Fiber Driver, TereScope

Advanced fiber optimization includes fiber grooming, remote management and WDM based solutions, deployed from enterprise optical storage extension to carrier long-haul core networks. MRV also offers optical protection, transparent optical extension/conversion and ultra high-bandwidth optical wireless solutions, including the first 10Gb wireless Ethernet link.

Two major trends are converging in networking which will help MRV achieve this vision – the ubiquitous spread of IP and the increasing use of optical networking technologies. Optical packet networks are therefore the next evolution in optical networking and MRV is one of the best-positioned players in the market.

Once constrained to the core of the network due to high cost, optical technology is proliferating at the edge in the access networks. For enterprise and service provider networks, Ethernet is everywhere. MRV, one of the first innovators of Ethernet switching technology, has brought to market products focused on first mile Optical Ethernet access. The company has married its Optical Ethernet switching with advanced Ethernet operations, administration, and maintenance (OAM) features to reach new thresholds of performance, quality of service (QoS), resiliency, scalability, and security.

Optical packet networking is the next evolution in optical networking, combining packet traffic and wavelengths with the optional addition of SONET.
