CHATSWORTH, CA – Feb. 01, 2010 – MRV COMMUNICATIONS, INC., today announced that Zeev Draer, vice president of marketing, will present at the MPLS & Ethernet World Congress 2010 event held Feb. 9-13 in Paris. In addition, Draer will serve as a Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) ambassador during the Ethernet Wholesale Summit 2010 event taking place as part of the MPLS & Ethernet World Congress 2010. MRV is a leading networking company with a full line of packet-optical transport (P-OTS), Carrier Ethernet, 40G networking and out-of-band networking products.

Since its beginning in 1999, MPLS & Ethernet World has followed the evolution of Internet broadband technologies, from GMPLS to mobile backhaul through OAM issues and layer 3 VPN. With more than 1,000 participants, MPLS & Ethernet World is known as the world's number one event in the domain of broadband networking. The Ethernet Wholesale Summit will be held together with the MPLS & Ethernet World Congress, welcoming experts discussing technical issues for synchronization, network convergence or migration towards LTE and the standardization process. Both events will be held at the Paris Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel & Conference Center and MRV will be showcasing its latest technologies in booth 114.

As part of the MPLS & Ethernet World Congress Carrier Ethernet workshop on Tuesday, Feb. 9, Zeev Draer’s presentation will explore how the latest evolution of the definition of Carrier Ethernet and new connection-oriented protocols expand enterprise customer service level agreement (SLA) requirements. Through this presentation, Draer will discuss connection-oriented technologies, related standards, service options and real-life customer case studies.

Also on Tuesday, Feb. 9, Draer will serve as an MEF ambassador speaker during the Carrier Ethernet for mobile backhaul workshop on the advances in Carrier Ethernet standards for mobile backhaul.

“The demand for Carrier Ethernet services has grown substantially over the past few years and MRV will continue its efforts to develop new, innovative solutions for the Ethernet market,” said Noam Lotan, chief executive officer of MRV Communications. “Zeev’s extensive experience in this space has put him in the position to see the industry grow and change, which allows him to bring a very realistic perspective to this presentation.”

Prior to his role as vice president of marketing, Draer served as vice president and product line manager for MRV International-Metro Ethernet Division. Draer is a member of the Metro Ethernet Forum and is active in making technology outlook presentations at industry seminars, conferences and tradeshows. Draer has more than 15 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.
