CHATSWORTH, CA - July 07, 2010 - MRV COMMUNICATIONS, INC., today announced two company executives will present as part of the Packet Transport Networks event in Milan, Italy, presenting on best practices on the deployment of packet-optical transport for Carrier Ethernet networks and giving an industry update on the use of optical Ethernet in mobile backhaul networks. Packet Transport Networks is a detailed and specific forum for senior professionals looking to tap into the most current thinking on packet evolution strategies, key technology advances, systems developments, standards and deployment options. This year's event will be held July 6-8 at the Grand Visconti Palace.

Zeev Draer, MRV vice president of marketing, will join fellow Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) representatives for a panel debate entitled "Deploying Ethernet in Mobile Backhaul: A Status Report." On the same day, Alain Marion, Business Development manager for MRV's French office will speak as part of the Technology Spotlight on packet transport. Marion will provide the audience with information on building an optimized solution for wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) optical transport and Carrier Ethernet next generation fixed and mobile transport networks.

Prior to his role as vice president of marketing, Draer served as vice president and product line manager for MRV International Carrier Ethernet Division. In this position, he was responsible for leading and promoting MRV's flagship Carrier Ethernet product lines in the Metro Ethernet access market. Draer is a member of the MEF and is active in making technology outlook presentations at industry seminars, conferences and tradeshows. Draer has more than 15 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.

Alain Marion joined MRV in 2000 and is currently the technical leader for MRV vertical solutions in France. In the past years, Marion handled business development activities with a specific focus on Carrier market and promoted MRV Metro Ethernet Access solutions. Also a member of the MEF, Marion worked on many Carrier Ethernet and Metro Optical projects during the last decade and assisted to the evolution of telecommunications industry from circuits to packets.
