Out-of-Band Networking: Sensor Networking and Management

Sensor Networking

Sensor Networking support for low voltage alarm points as well as temperature\humidity is supported by all LX Series Console Servers. Simply configure an individual serial port for alarm management and the port becomes an alarm input and control output point for a wide variety of sensors. An external temperature\humidity sensor provides details measures providing detailed measurements for threshold level monitoring.

More sophisticated Sensor Management is supported via the 7204/7304 Sensor Managers. These devices are dedicated platforms that are built to support alarm and sensor management applications. Monitoring and controlling low voltage, high voltage, and analog sensors provides an array of options that can be used with almost any sensor or alarm device.

  • Single management interface for sensor network, console access and power control
  • Cost effective low density alarm capabilities without the need for additional hardware by using LX Series integrated sensor support
  • Rapid return on investment by minimizing site visits
  • High density IP based sensor platform eliminates multi-box solutions
  • Industry leading security features, including SSHV2, SNMPv3, RADIUS, SecurID, TACACS+ and more
  • Wet, dry and 20 ma analog sensor inputs and control output meet wide range of needs
  • Integrated console server option with Ethernet connectivity, serial port, and v.92 modem
