Fiber Driver
WDM Solutions
The Fiber Driver Optical Multi-service Platform includes complete WDM solutions for fiber optimization.. Combining multiple network data streams onto a single media with Wave Division Multiplexing (WDM) enables enormous captial and operating cost savings. Specialized WDM applications leverage the same flexible chassis, management system, and many of the general purpose modules of the Fiber Driver Multi-Service Platform.
WDM Tool Set
Transponders
Using pluggable optic transceivers designed for WDM wavelengths, some Fiber Driver modules are designed to transform standard optical or legacy electrical data signals into precise optical signals with an ITU-grid specific wavelength, that can share a common fiber optic path.
TDM MUXponders
TDM MUXponder modules combine the functionality of electrical signal multiplexing and of a WDM transponder. The Fiber Driver MUXponders use Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) to aggregate lower speed signals into a higher rate carrier for transmission over an optical WDM grid wavelength, which further optimizes the fiber optic media usage by allowing these combined signals to share a fiber path.
Plugin Transceivers
WDM SFP/XFP transceivers are designed for specific wavelengths within the defined CWDM and DWDM ITU wavelength grid (see Plugins). They transform the Fiber Driver multi-function, demarcation, and TDM modules into WDM network transponders and MUXponders. Read more »
