For many networking systems, both data and storage, copper interfaces provide the best value. However, it is often necessary to convert these copper interfaces to fiber, and it is extremely useful to be able to connect the copper interfaces directly to the same cross-connect that fiber optics would plug into. For this reason, copper SFP and GBIC interfaces are a critical component of MRV's pluggables solution.
