LX 4800 Power Control Series
The 4800 Power Control Series from MRV Communications delivers DC power solutions combining intelligent power distribution and remote power control. Typically used by telco facilities and utilities, the 4800 Series provides a powerful, cost-effective approach for remote networks and systems to ensure minimal operational downtime and eliminate site visits. 3 LX-4800 models support a variety of applications.
Features
- Wide Range of Port Density, Power Source, and Outlet Options: The LX 4800 Series Power Management products are designed for CLECs, ILECs, ISPs and corporations to manage -48 VDC power control to equipment cabinets in remote sites, co-location facilities and network operations centers. 4, 12 and 16 outlet models support up to 200 Amps of capacity with individual outlets supporting up to 70A maximum.
- Installation and Environmental Deployments: The LX 4800 Series meets the requirements of many NEBS identified specifications including: GR-63-Core Spatial, Thermal Requirements, Fire Resistance, Earthquake/Vibration, and Acoustic Noise Section. GR-1089 Core: EMI Emissions, Lightning & AC Power, Electrical Safety and Bonding and Grounding.
- Individual Outlet Monitoring: Monitoring current draw and utilization at the device level as well as per individual outlet are supported providing a very granular level of data to aid in the planning and troubleshooting of power related activities.
Remote Power Control and Monitoring
- Enable, Disable, Toggle Individual Outlets: Remotely enable additional equipment without the need to dispatch a technician. Reboot “locked up” or defective equipment by toggling individual outlets, not disturbing adjacent devices.
- Power Utilization Monitoring: Aids in the planning, troubleshooting and proactive planning of power related activities. Accurate current utilization data allows network administrators to safely load and expand installations by reviewing accurate measurements of available power and avoiding overloads causing blackouts and potential equipment damage.
- Time of Day Rules: Avoid having idle equipment consume electricity, generate heat, and shortens equipment life expectancy. Use time of day rules to shutdown idle equipment, greatly reducing operating costs for power and also reducing capitol equipment costs over time.
Secure Communications
- Encrypted Network Access: Securing any network infrastructure is a critical that protects the devices from un-authorized. Support for SSL, SSHv2 and SNMPv3 allow the solution to be seamlessly integrated into a wide range of standards based security architectures.
- Multi Level User Access: Allowing multiple users to manage and monitor equipment enables a multi-tier management staff to manage power resources. Help Desk personnel, IT staff, and third party service companies can be given access to specific s, functions, and controls without compromising security.
Outlet and Device Grouping Control
- Outlet Group Support: Limits user access to a specific set of outlets, allowing multiple departments to share a single physical power control unit while limiting management access to specific ports. A power group member can be given access to specific ports across any number of power control devices from a single user profile.
Automated Notification and Action Capability
- Threshold Level Notification: Avoid overloading circuits by setting thresholds levels to specific levels to warn administrators of potential problems, greatly reducing risk. Because every network is different, multiple notification methods including SNMP Traps, Email, Text Messaging, and Paging enable the solution to easily integrate with existing systems.
- Enable\Disable Outlets Automatically: The ability to automatically enable\disable\toggle individual outlets based on a pre-configured triggering event allows provides an almost limitless number of options to react to any network or environmental condition.
