LX 5250 Power Control Series
The 5250 Power Control Series from MRV Communications delivers AC power solutions combining intelligent power distribution and remote power control. A key element of MRV's Out-of-Band Network solutions, the 5250 Series provides a powerful, cost-effective approach for remote networks and systems to ensure minimal operational downtime, support unmanned operations, and eliminate site visits. The 5250 Series includes a range of 8 port horizontal rack mount models, and 16 to 32 port vertical mount models.
Features
- Wide Range of Port Density, Power Source, and Outlet Options: 8-32 outlet density provides a wide range of price\outlet value for virtually any application. Power source options include 110VAC, 230VAC, and 208VAC as well as 208VAC Three Phase models.
- Horizontal and Vertical Mounting Options: Standard 1 and 2U Horizontal 8 and 16 port units can be mounted in an equipment rack or located on a tabletop\shelf where equipment racks don't exist. Vertical units allow the units to be installed along the equipment rack or cabinet vertically reducing the need to consume valuable rack space.
Remote Power Control and Monitoring
- Enable, Disable, Toggle Individual Outlets: Remotely enable additional or backup equipment without the need to dispatch a technician. Reboot "locked up" or defective equipment by toggling individual outlets, not disturbing adjacent devices.
- Power Sequencing: Allows users to determine the order in which equipment is powered up.
- Power Utilization Monitoring: Aids in the planning, troubleshooting and proactive planning of power related activities. Accurate current utilization data allows network administrators to safely load and expand installations by reviewing accurate measurements of available power and avoiding overloads causing blackouts and potential equipment damage.
- Time of Day Rules: Avoid having idle equipment consume electricity, generate heat, and shortens equipment life expectancy. Use time of day rules to shutdown idle equipment, greatly reducing operating costs for power and also reducing capitol equipment costs over time.
Secure Communications
- Encrypted Network Access: Securing any network infrastructure is a critical function that protects the devices from un-authorized access. Support for SSL, SSHv2 and SNMPv3 allow the solution to be seamlessly integrated into a wide range of standards based security architectures.
- Multi Level User Access: Allowing multiple users to manage and monitor equipment enables a multi-tier management staff to manage power resources. Help Desk personnel, IT staff, test technicians, development engineers or third party service companies can be given access to specific functions and controls without compromising security.
Outlet and Device Grouping Control
- Outlet Group Support: Limits user access to a specific set of outlets, allowing multiple departments to share a single physical power control unit while limiting management access to specific ports. A power group member can be given access to specific ports across any number of power control devices from a single user profile.
Automated Notification and Action Capability
- Threshold Level Notification: Avoid overloading circuits by setting thresholds levels to specific levels to warn administrators of potential problems, greatly reducing risk. Because every network is different, multiple notification methods including SNMP Traps, Email, Text Messaging, and Paging enable the solution to easily integrate with existing systems.
- Enable\Disable Outlets Automatically: The ability to automatically enable\disable\toggle individual outlets based on a pre-configured triggering event provides an almost limitless number of options to react to any network or environmental condition.
