LambdaDriver® XFP Trunk
The LambdaDriver® TM-GM8XFP Muxponders use advanced TDM technology to transport 8 separate Gigabit Ethernet data streams into a 10 Gbps XFP based trunk port. A TDM approach provides the highest security and isolation between ports, as opposed to common Ethernet switching alternatives. Very low latency and Jumbo frame support make this product an excellent choice for pure physical layer aggregated transport.
This solution provides a significant cost reduction and excellent fiber utilization when compared to discrete optical multiplexing.
The TM-GM8XFP incorporates 8 SFP based access interfaces that can accommodate various types of SFPs (e.g. Multimode or Singlemode). The trunk port is an XFP 10Gbps permitting flexible connectivity options between the muxponders either in a WDM system or directly between two modules.
Usage of SFP and XFP based interfaces all over greatly reduces the need for costly inventory of spares in the system and facilitates maintenance and support.
The Link Integrity Notification (LIN) functionality is supported by the TM-GM8XFP module, providing real physical layer "cable disconnect" propagation over the optical network.
The modules are manageable by the LambdaDriver® management module either locally by RS232 CLI access or remotely by Telnet, SNMP or GUI management via the MRV MegaVision Pro management platform.
