Media Cross Connect™ SAS/SATA Blade
The SAS/SATA (Serial Attached SCSI/Serial ATA) blade is the latest addition to the Storage Area Network (SAN) interface portfolio supported by the MRV's MCC. The MCC is initially wired to all lab devices. Test technicians can physically connect and remotely configure storage equipment of various types and protocols, which provides greater setup flexibility and improved operating efficiency. Often-used topologies can be stored and recalled by any authorised user. Test time and configuration errors are reduced, repeatability of tests like disaster or failover simulation is simplified, and expensive test equipment can be shared. The first of its kind, MRV's SAS/SATA blade supports 1.5, 3.0, and 6.0 Gbps data rates with full transparency to any end devices. They use the standard Mini-SAS 4x connector for the widest connection compatibility. Input signal detection and cable break simulations are also supported. The MCC architecture allows mixing different types of blades in a single chassis to support the wide array of SAN protocols and increase system flexibility. The MCC solution can be customized to address the specific needs of each testing environment.
