The OptiSwitch Master® series (OSM) is an IP/MPLS/VPLS high-performance router for carriers, ISPs and data service providers, designed as an intelligent Edge system between the Access and the Metro networks. The systems are engineered to serve as subscribers’ edge routers that connect all IP, L2 and MPLS subscribers to the services and take part in the Internet Ethernet IP backbone.

The OptiSwitch Master® series has a chassis based design with 8 and 16 slots chassis designated as OSM800 and OSM1600. All chassis are capable of hosting a variety of modules including 4 and 8 ports of 10/100, 2,4 and 8 ports of 100Base-Fx, one port of Gigabit Ethernet and a Gigabit redundant module. Multimode and Single mode optical interfaces are available in variable optical power, including long reach fiber and CWDM connectivity.
OptiSwitch Master is capable of performing traffic engineering at Layers 2, 3 and 4, with enhanced security, high availability and sophisticated QoS while facilitating high-speed network connections for service providers.
