WDM1616 - 16-Channel, 16-Wavelength CWDM Systems was deleted by diana on Mon Oct 18, 2004 9:13:27 PDT Reason: Product nolonger available Previous Overview: The technologically advanced Fiber Driver™ WDM1616 Wave Division Multiplexer (WDM) from MRV Communications presents a cost-effective means for creating and managing high capacity fiber optic networks. Using a separate wavelength for each data channel, it multiplexes sixteen Gigabit speed, Full Duplex data channels over a single link of low water peak attenuation fiber (e.g. Corning® SMF-28e™). What would normally take sixteen pairs of fiber to transmit instead only takes one pair.
An affordable alternative to Dense Wave Division Multiplexers (DWDM), the WDM1616 is designed with Coarse Wave Division Multiplexing (CWDM) technology. With link distances of up to 35 km and support for Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and FICON, the WDM1616 is an excellent solution for a wide variety of applications in Metro, Campus, and Government/Military environments.
To achieve end-to-end network management, every Fiber Driver WDM1616 comes standard with a full range of built-in management functions. Management allows users to remotely access system status information such as link state, operating temperature, power supply status, and more. Event traps can also be set to generate management alerts and warnings should system parameters fall outside of normal operating range.
