Optical Add / Drop Multiplexer Cable

The Fiber Driver WDM product line – part of the family of WDM solutions from MRV Communications – brings an unprecedented level of flexibility and scalability to WDM systems designed for metro and intra-city district networks, and campus and enterprise networks.

Extending the capabilities of Fiber Driver WDM systems, the Fiber Driver OADM (Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer) cables create a network topology in which a wavelength can be added or dropped on demand. The cable itself covers the functionality of one single fiber, thus two of these cables are required in order to implement a dual fiber OADM, one providing the add function, while the second implementing the drop one. The technology enables flexible and intelligent planning and provisioning of optical services while at the same time simplifying the deployment and maintenance of the optical network.
