Optical Cross Connect
MRV’s Optical Cross Connect (OCC) switches fiber data speeds of 40 Gbps and above in an all-optical OSI Layer 1 switch. At the center of the OCC’s architecture is a three dimensional Micro-Eletro-Mechanical (3D-MEMS) switching matrix. This technology allows transparent, non-blocking switching of single-mode fiber. Connections are made in less than 20 ms with a typical insertion loss of 2.0 dB.
The OCC is scalable in increments of 8 ports to 320 bi-directional ports or 640 fiber terminations. The OCC is available with an optional Multi-Channel Power Monitor that monitors the optical input power of each port and adjusts the mirrors to minimize optical loss.
Administration, configuration and mappings are easily performed using the web-based management Graphical User Interface (GUI) or an industry-standard TL-1, either through an RS-232 serial local console port or RJ-45 Ethernet port using SSH or telnet protocols.
