Modular Switches and Routers

MRV provides two families of Modular Switches and Routers. These products are all chassis-based systems accepting interface modules.

OptiSwitch
The OptiSwitch product line is designed to meet the needs of high-density fiber optic switching applications. With a variety of chassis styles and over ninety modules, the OptiSwitch family provides an exceptional level of versatility. It supports both high-end switching and IP routing functionality and is ideal for broadband data communication service.

OptiSwitch-M
The OptiSwitch-M provides a wire speed IP routing solution without sacrificing any of the features required to build a scalable network. This is achieved by using a powerful hardware engine with network processors implemented on every port. These custom programmable processors are highly efficient and capable of analyzing and modifying any part of a frame at wire speeds. Additionally, the network processor can classify and prioritize each frame and enable per flow decisions such as: scheduling, routing, forwarding, rate limiting, and filtering.
