MRV's OptiSwitch® 900 Shows Real-World Carrier Ethernet Interconnection at the Advanced Global Interconnect Showcase at Ethernet Europe Show

OptiSwitch® 900 carrier-class Ethernet access product line participate as part of the Advanced Global Interconnect Test Program live demo at Ethernet Europe. MRV was the only network interface device (NID) vendor to participate in the showcase and thus was able to show interoperability with all industry leading Carrier Ethernet operators' networks throughout Europe.

Interoperability testing extended end-to-end Carrier Ethernet services to remote service provider locations throughout Frankfurt, Munich, London, Luxembourg, Paris, Brussels and Sevastopol, Spain, where the circuits were terminated by network interface devices (NIDs) supplied by MRV.

Global Interconnect Ethernet availability across operators is a key challenge. External Network-Network Interfaces (ENNI) specified by the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) is a key component to the success of Global Carrier Ethernet Services and fully supported by MRV NID.

By implementing MRV's OptiSwitch®, service providers can simplify ENNI provisioning and troubleshooting across multiple networks, reduce time to deliver services and lower service management costs.

MRV Demonstrated Simplified And Provisioned Cable MSO Interconnect Solution Enabling Business Ethernet Services

MRV demonstrated the ability to provision end-to-end Carrier Ethernet services across multiple systems operator (MSO) networks at this year's CableLabs Summer Conference 2010. The demonstration used the company's OptiSwitch® 900 intelligent Carrier Ethernet access demarcation combined with service provisioning and management system.

In addition to the E-NNI demo, MRV's demonstration highlighted networking requirements and interface functionality at the MSO network-to-network interface (M-NNI) reference point to ensure interoperability between multiple operator metro Ethernet networks. The key elements of this demonstration were CoS mapping, standards-based Ethernet OAM and fault and alarm propagation. The demonstration highlighted industry best practices for MSO-to-MSO interconnection that extends from customer edge to Carrier Ethernet, with clear demarcation management points and end-to-end service level guarantees.
